About Face Shapes Detector
Face Shapes Detector is a free tool that identifies your face shape from a single photo (oval, round, square, oblong, or heart) and points you toward hairstyles, glasses, and styling that suit it. We built it to replace vague "just look in the mirror" advice with a fast, private, and transparent way to actually know your shape.

Our mission
Most face-shape content online is either a listicle with no real measurement behind it, or a tool that hides how it works and what happens to your photo. We think you deserve both: a genuinely useful tool, and a plain-English explanation of how it gets its answer. That's why we publish a full methodology page explaining exactly how the detector works, what its limits are, and how your photo is handled: analyzed on our servers and deleted immediately afterward.
What we believe
- Every face shape can look great. Our styling guides are built to help you flatter your features, never to suggest anything about your face needs "fixing." See our most attractive face shape guide for the science on why beauty isn't about shape category.
- Privacy shouldn't be an afterthought. A tool that analyzes your face should say clearly what it does with your photo. Ours deletes your photo immediately after analysis and never stores it or uses it to train our model. Full details on our privacy page.
- Transparency builds trust. We'd rather explain our method and its limitations honestly than oversell accuracy we can't back up.
- Science, cited. Where we make a claim about measurement or attractiveness, we link the actual source rather than repeating unsourced beauty-blog claims: see, for example, the research in our most attractive face shape guide.
How the site is organized
- The detector: the free tool itself, and the core of the site.
- The 7 face shapes: a deep-dive page for every shape, with defining features, celebrities, and styling.
- Hairstyles and glasses guides: matched to every face shape, for men and women.
- Guides: how-to, measurement, bangs, and attractiveness science.
- Methodology, privacy, authors, and contact: the trust pages you're reading now.
